The Power of Flowers

January 20, 2012 in Image Inspiration

Flowers have always been an important part of the wedding planning. Some people like to use as many as possible and some like small touches throughout a space. Whatever it may be it’s not a wedding without flowers. What if you based your entire design off floral inspiration…taking the details, color, and textures of flowers and incorporating it into every aspect of a wedding?

This is the image that inspired me…

You can go the literal route with floral material or try an ombre pedal like dress.

Floral dresses don’t have to be colorful, this and that white dress do the trick just fine.

Engagement rings vintage and modern.

Each dress could be different or everyone can rock the same one.

Wedding invitations with small floral touches, letterpress and classic.

Floral painted on a cake and flowers incorporated into the cake.

Tableware you want to take home after the party.

Extravagant centerpiece muted and colorful.

Trends catch like a wildfire in the world of weddings and as my research shows, saying vows under the branches of enormous trees has become the “it” thing to do. Nature is gorgeous and it’s the first thing that pops into a bride’s head when a wedding is in the works (i.e. flowers). There’s nothing more comforting or romantic than Mother Nature’s amazing work and its beauty is indescribable just like the magic of LOVE. It’s only appropriate that they go hand in hand.

Happy New Year! Now that I’m finally in the year of my own wedding date; I’m really starting to buckle down and get into the planning mode. I still can’t quite decide on the décor route I’m going for so onto more inspirational decorating. Since my Blue Animal image inspiration post was such a success I decided to go back to the BG images and continue to explore them. With the Gold Animal below it only seems appropriate with the New Year.

Design Around the Dress (Secret Garden)

December 29, 2011 in Design Around the Dress

This new 2012 spring Marchesa dress has a whimsical out door feel in the design. It has a bit of elegance to it, which makes it more than just an outdoor wedding dress. The dress has a mysterious and simple edge screaming from the details. I see an upscale garden wedding with lots of natural details and edgy charm. Taking ideas from the secret garden, midsummer night dream and lots of nature images this could be a fabulous outdoor wedding away from the backyard.

Frost Your Wedding

December 19, 2011 in Themed Weddings

Due to the holiday season and beautiful decorations I just can’t clear my mind to write about the new 2012 spring Bridal collections I’ve been eyeing. So, in honor of the holiday season and winter weather upon us, I’m posting a winter wonderland themed wedding image board. I was browsing through the movie channels late the other night, since all of my shows are on hold until the New Year, and came across a movie I haven’t seen in awhile, “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days”. It only seemed appropriate that I frosted my winter wonderland themed post in honor of the movie’s slogan “Frost Yourself”. Hopefully this might inspire a bride planning for next years winter wedding, I know I was.
